The UEMS Council, meeting in Brussels on 20th April 2013, adopted several key documents of importance to our organisation as a whole and particularly to our Specialist Sections.

We are pleased to be able to report that the UEMS, through its Section of Occupational Medicine, was granted the DGAUM Innovation Award 2013.
The next meeting of the UEMS Council will be held on 19th and 20th April 2013 in Brussels, Belgium.
EP IMCO committee endorses competence-based training and fosters continued education and training for European medical specialists!
The UEMS-EACCME® has amended its criteria for the accreditation of Live Educational Events (UEMS 2012/30). These have become applicable for all applications made as of 1st January 2013 and supersede previous versions of accreditation criteria for CME-CPD in Europe.
The European Commission recently launched a consultation to receive input of interested parties as to how the criteria for the scope and for European Reference Networks and the healthcare providers wishing to join the network. The establishment of these networks is one of the innovations suggested in the European Cross-Border Care Directive (2011/24/EC).
