The European Commission is organising a High-Level Conference entitled "Jobs for Europe: The Employment Policy Conference" in Brussels on 6th and 7th September 2012. The UEMS, through its President Dr Romuald Krajewski, was invited to address this event in order to present the views of healthcare professionals on this issue.
The next meeting of the UEMS Council will be held on 18th and 19th October 2012 in Larnaca, Cyprus.
Dear Colleagues, The European Commission is organising on 6th and 7th September a High-Level Conference on Employment. This event is expected to pave the way to jobs’ recovery in Europe at a particularly difficult period. In this regard, the healthcare sector is seen as one of the niches which can foster that growth.
On 16th July 2012, Ms Bernadette Vergnaud, (France, S&D), as EP rapporteur on that dossier, released her report on the European Commission’s proposal to revise the Directive on the Mutual Recognition of Professional Qualifications (2005/36/EC).
Health Priorities As of 1st July 2012, Cyrpus is taking over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Together with the two other countries of the Trio (Poland and Denmark) the Cypriot Government has established a program covering seven priority areas and actions that it will support in the Health sector
Ahead of the European Summit of June (28-29), leading Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) joined a broad coalition of organisations, among which the UEMS, warning European leaders to act urgently to prevent Europe from a health crisis.
