About the UEMS Journal

The European Medical Specialist Review is a new publication created by the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) to share ideas, perspectives, and analysis on topics that matter to medical specialists across Europe.

We invite contributions that explore professional practice, education and training, health policy, innovation, and emerging scientific developments, always with a European or cross-national perspective. The journal is a space for thoughtful discussion and reflection, rather than original clinical or laboratory research.

To support broad participation and encourage new voices, submissions are free of charge until June 2026, as part of the journal’s launch phase.

Our article categories are structured as follows: Feature Articles (1,800–2,500 words) should present comprehensive and well-structured analyses and must include an executive summary of 150–200 words. Perspective or Commentary Articles (1,200–1,800 words) may offer focused reflections on emerging issues, policy developments, or professional insights.

If you have an idea, insight, or perspective to share, we warmly encourage you to submit your article and take part in shaping this new UEMS initiative

Submit your article now and be part of the first issue of the UEMS Journal — a special edition for the 2026 UEMS Congress.
