About the UEMS Journal

The European Medical Specialist Review (EMSR) is the official journal of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS). The journal provides a platform for the publication of peer-reviewed scientific articles and professional contributions relevant to medical specialists across Europe.

EMSR aims to support the advancement of specialist medicine by disseminating research, evidence-based analyses, and expert perspectives on clinical practice, postgraduate medical training, healthcare systems, and professional regulation. The journal promotes the exchange of knowledge among clinicians, researchers, educators, and policymakers at both European and international levels.

The journal publishes a range of article types, including original research, review articles, position papers, and guidelines, alongside editorials and professional perspectives. All scientific articles undergo a structured peer-review process to ensure quality, integrity, and relevance.

EMSR is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and transparency, in accordance with internationally recognised guidelines, including those of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

To support broad participation and encourage new voices, submissions are free of charge until June 2026, as part of the journal’s launch phase.
