Registration opens soon for the 3rd UEMS European Examination in Medical Microbiology

The UEMS (European Union of Medical Specialists), Section of Medical Microbiology, in partnership with ESCMID, is pleased to announce the 3rd UEMS-ESCMID European Examination in Medical Microbiology.

The examination is based on the curriculum forming part of the UEMS Core Training Programme for Medical Microbiology, current European best-practice guidelines, and recent pivotal publications in major journals.

Exam

The exam consists of Multiple Choice Questions in the single-best-answer format, in English only, and will run for two hours.

The exam fee is €500, with a 50% reduction (€250) available for the first candidates to register. Payment is only requested once a candidate has been confirmed as eligible and their application accepted; payment instructions will follow via the registration platform.

Eligibility

Candidates must:

  • Be a Medical Doctor
  • Be a trainee or consultant in Medical Microbiology
  • Be training in a country that is a full, associate, or observer member of UEMS (list available at www.uems.eu)
  • Have completed a minimum of 40 months of full-time training in Medical Microbiology, endorsed by two referees, at least one of whom is the trainer/supervisor

Acceptance is based on meeting the above criteria.

The European Examination in Medical Microbiology is organised and managed by the UEMS Section of Medical Microbiology, with the support of and in cooperation with ESCMID. As a European organisation for medical specialists, UEMS develops training requirements for medical doctors.
