NASCE's First accreditation visit outside Europe, a milestone for global high level medical training

On May 8th, 2025, Prof. Apostolos E. Papalois (Greece) and Assoc. Prof. Dilek Kitapcioğlu (Turkiye), representing the UEMS Network of Accredited Skills Centres in Europe (NASCE), visited the Cadaveric Microanatomy Laboratory at Applied Science Private University (ASU) in Amman, Jordan, as part of its accreditation process. This marks NASCE’s first accreditation visit outside Europe. 

The visit included a tour of the lab and university, and meetings with faculty, staff, and students. NASCE, a UEMS committee, promotes high standards in healthcare education and harmonisation across skills centres globally. The visit was described as productive and inspiring, sparking ideas for the lab’s development as a regional and international training and research hub.
