Summary of key decisions
The Council of UEMS gathered on 20th and 21st April 2012 in Brussels. On that occasions, UEMS Members discussed and decided the following:
EACCME
UEMS National Member Associations and Specialist Sections & Boards were invited to nominate delegates who could serve as reviewers for EACCME applications when review of an application by Specialist Section or by National Accreditation Authority cannot be obtained in the required time.
Specialist issues
The following Chapters 6 were endorsed in the following specialties:
- Anaesthesiology
- Neurology
- Dermatology & Venereology
- Nuclear Medicine
- Angiology
EU Affairs
The document UEMS 2012/07: “UEMS Position Statement on the EC Proposal for a Directive amending Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications and Regulation on administrative cooperation through the Internal Market Information System PQD” was adopted.
CEN – Comité Européen de Normalisation
An indicative vote confirmed the Council’s total opposition to this initiative and the Executive was mandated to act on these concerns.
